Deborah Smithey joined ISA science team in 2017. She was a science educator in the Philadelphia School System for 39 years. Deborah taught General Biology, Physical Science, Anatomy and Physiology and AP Biology. She was a Yale National Initiative Fellow 2010, 2011 serving on the National Steering Committee 2011 and 2012. She was a member of the University of Pennsylvania-Teachers Institute 2007, 2008 and served in the capacity of Teacher at Large 2010. Deborah received her Bachelor’s Degree from Lincoln University and her Master’s Degree from Temple University. Deborah has completed all of the coursework for her doctorate (ABD) at Temple University. Deborah is presently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Pennsylvania Institute of Technology teaching Biology and Chemistry to nursing students.
