Carle Place, New York – April 21, 2014 – The Institute for Student Achievement (ISA), an organization that partners with schools and districts to transform public high schools, so that students who are traditionally underserved and underperforming graduate prepared for success in college and careers, announced today that Scott Noon has joined the organization as executive director for business development. Noon will lead the development of sales and marketing efforts for ISA and will be responsible for exploring new product strategies.
“We are very excited to have Scott on our team,” said Dr. Gerry House, president of ISA. “He brings strong, strategic business development expertise, which will greatly expand our outreach to support district and school leaders in creating high schools that prepare all students for college and career success. Scott’s passion for educational improvement through school redesign and effective teaching aligns with ISA’s mission, and we feel that he will be a great asset to the Institute.”
Noon has had numerous successes in various executive leadership roles at renowned education companies, serving as the vice president of market development at Teachscape and vice president of business development at Riverside Publishing Co., a division of Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Noon also helped to develop a highly successful dotcom, Classroom Connect, which was sold to Harcourt in 2001.
Most recently, Scott was general manager of the American Federation of Teachers’ Share My Lesson initiative, where he more than tripled the subscriber base of what has become the fastest growing online teacher community in the USA. In this role, Noon led strategy, marketing, communications, professional learning, and outreach for the company. He drove registration growth through digital marketing programs and social networking, while developing partnerships with content providers to expand the resource base.
“I am thrilled to be part of an organization that has made such an impressive impact on student achievement for traditionally underserved students,” said Noon. “Students in ISA partner schools have significantly higher attendance rates, graduation rates, college admissions, and college persistence rates. It’s a pleasure to be part of a world-class non-profit that’s focused on creating excellent and equitable schools for all students.”
